A memorial service will be at noon Friday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman, for Shirley Barnes, 85, who passed away peacefully Friday October 26.

Shirley was born September 3, 1933 in Corry, PA, a daughter of Raymond and Thelma Messinger Barnes.  She graduated from Fairview High School in Dayton, and worked for many years as an accounting clerk.  A member of St. Charles Church, Shirley participated in the Resurrection Choir.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and bird watching.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memory her loving children Roger (Jane) Hafner, Mark O. (Jacquie) Hafner, and Lynnette (Bob) Workman, a brother Gary (Diane) Barnes, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her sister Betty Rae Collins.
