Shirley J. Baughman, 88 YOUNGSTOWN - Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Randy Brunko at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Evangel Baptist Church in Boardman for Shirley J. Baughman, 88, who passed away peacefully Saturday morning. Shirley was born May 13, 1927, in Youngstown, a daughter of John Kenneth and Alice Margaret Haney Nystrom. She was a Chaney High School graduate and was a switchboard operator for Ohio Bell. Shirley was a member of the Evangel Baptist Church and enjoyed playing cards with friends and bowling. Her husband, Harold C. Baughman, whom she married April 14, 1948, passed away Sept. 24, 2010. She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Karen (Roger) Linker and Cindy (Bob) Hovart, both of Boardman; three grandchildren, Christy Linker, Will Linker and Amy Hovart; and a great-granddaughter, Aza. Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Nystrom, and a sister, Diana Trescott. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Evangel Baptist Church.
