Stella Marie Pavlik, 86 YOUNGSTOWN - There will be prayers at 9:30 Monday at Fox Funeral Home followed by a Resurrection Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church at 10 a.m. celebrated by Fr. Martin Celuch for Stella Marie Pavlik, 86, who passed away Wednesday afternoon at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center. Stella was born May 29, 1928 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Jack and Dominica Marilla LaPresta and has been a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and went on to nursing school. Stella worked as a nurse for Dr. DiDomenico from 1969 until retiring in 1999. She was a long time member of St. Matthias parish. She enjoyed baking, gardening but most of all spending time with her grandsons. She will be greatly missed by her son, Michael A. (Debra) Pavlik of Boardman; three grandsons, Michael, Richard and Kelly Pavlik; four great grandchildren, Samantha, Makenzie, Sydney and Kelly and her niece and best friend Emily Vitullo. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael J. Pavlik; her five brothers, Andrew LaPresta, Thomas LaPresta, Samuel LaPresta, Joseph LaPresta, John LaPresta;and her three sisters, Virginia Naples, Mildred LaChevio and Rosie Choppa. There will be calling hours from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Fox Funeral Home. Her family requests any monetary donations be made in Stella's memory to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St. Boardman, OH 44512.
