Obituary

Stephen "Chip" Dobrich Jr., 95 of Poland passed away peacefully Thursday morning with his wife by his side.

Chip was born September 10, 1921 in Campbell, a son of Stephen and Margaret Yelich Dobrich, Sr.  He was a 1939 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and attended Indiana State University on a football scholarship.  Chip served the US Navy from 1941 to 1944 in the Asiatic Pacific theatre.  He worked as a machinist at Youngstown Sheet and Tube and Calex Aluminum, retiring after 37 years.  Chip was a member of the Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, the Serbian National Federation #237, The Masons #716, the Mercedes Benz Club, was a past member of Fonderlac Country Club and Coral Springs Country Club and belonged to the Gray Eagles Golf Group.  He spent many winters in Florida with his cousin Pete Yovich.

Besides his wife Germaine "Geri", Chip leaves to cherish his memory a daughter Cynthia Ann (John) Hritz of Stonington, CT, step-children Diane (Mark) Graham of Canfield, David (Patty) Ochs of Fowlerville, MI, Dwayne (Helen) Ochs of Colorado Springs, CO and Debbie (Matthew) Friend of Commerce, MI; one granddaughter Meredith; nine step-grandchildren Damian, Joel, Kevin, Tricia, Joanna, Jordan, Sarah, Tessa and Nathan; and seven step great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Mary Ann, his brother Michael Dobrich and his sister Mildred Hrichus.

Friends may call from 2:30 to 3:30 pm Tuesday at Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, Youngstown followed by a Christian burial service at 3:30 pm.  Material tributes can be made in Chip's memory to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, OH  44512, Easter Seals, 721 Boardman-Poland Rd., Suite 104, Boardman, OH 44512, or the Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, OH 44509.
