Suzanne C. (Komar) Kane, 88 There will be prayers at 9:30 a.m.on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016 at Fox funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.at St. Dominic Church in Youngstown with the Rev. Bernard Timothy celebrating the Mass for Suzanne C. (Komar) Kane, 88, who passed away Monday at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman. Suzanne was born October 8, 1927 in Youngstown, a daughter of Mary (Haid) and Joseph Komar. Suzanne was a 1942 graduate of St. Ann School in Brier Hill, a 1946 graduate of Rayen High School and a 1949 graduate of the St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown and at the Belmont Ave. Windsor House Nursing Home. Her husband Francis Kane, whom she married November 24, 1949, died in 1989. Suzanne leaves two daughters, Marie Michele (Shelly) Kane of Akron and Mary Frances (William) Nagel of Boardman; three sons, John (Sue) Kane, Joseph (Deborah) Kane and Paul Kane, all of Boardman; son-in-law Daniel Mauerman of Crawford TX, daughter-in-law Arlene Kane of Las Vegas and sister-in-law Mary Komar of Austintown. She also leaves to cherish her memory and rejoice in her peace, thirteen grandchildren, Frank and Katie Kane of Las Vegas, Kelly Kane-Riley of Levittown, PA, Nicole Geraci of Boardman, Billy Nagel of Austintown, Matt Nagel of Sharon, PA, Adam Kane of New Middletown, Christina Eckstein of Gainesville, FL, Michael Kane of Austintown, Erin and Jessica Kane of Boardman, Jamie Mauerman of Crawford, TX and Joanie Moody of Waco, TX; and eight great- grandchildren Jimmy and Emily Riley, Nathan Geraci, Jillian Nagel, Jackson Kane, Chloe Kane, Lexi Moody and Tripp Moody. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Edward Kane of Las Vegas, a daughter Judy Mauerman of Crawford, TX, a daughter-in-law Joyce (Zlenka) Kane of Boardman, and a brother, John Komar of Austintown. Suzanne has been a member of St. Dominic Church since 1951. She was known by all who knew her as a woman of great faith and prayer. She taught by word and example what it meant to love Jesus and live without fear. The family is very grateful to the nurses and other staff on 5 South at St. Elizabeth Health Center Boardman for their care and kindness to Suzanne. Friends may call from 4 p.m.to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4 at the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. in Youngstown, OH. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Charles Borromeo Parish, 7345 Westview Dr., Boardman, OH 44512.
