Obituary

Theodore Soroka, 88 YOUNGSTOWN--Theodore Soroka, 88, passed away on Saturday morning at his home in Youngstown, Ohio. Theodore was born January 28, 1921, a son of Wasil and Paraska Soroka, and was a lifelong resident of Youngstown, Ohio. In 1942, Ted joined the United States Air Force and was a Technical Sergeant assigned to the 364th Fighter Group in World War II and received the Bronze Star for heroic achievement. In 1945, after World War H, he married his sweetheart and wife of 54 years, Rosemarie Phillips, who passed away October 20, 1999. He began his business of 45 years, United Excavating Company with his partner, Geno Parisi, who is now deceased. Since then, he was the owner of Uneco Realty Inc. and later T. S. Management. Ted was a dedicated member of his community. He was a member of the Westside Kiwanis Organization, the Latin Culture Foundation, 565th American Legion of Boardman, Ohio, the 364thAir Force Fighter Group Association and St. Patrick Church of Youngstown. A beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, he has touched numerous lives and will be missed by his many friends and devoted family. He is survived by his only daughter, Joan Motheral , a retired teacher for the Youngstown City Schools, her husband, Thomas, and thejoys of his life, his two grandsons, Ted and Mark. In addition, he leaves behind his beloved brothers and sister, John and Steve Soroka, and Mary Gnip. One brother, Peter Soroka, is deceased. The funeral services will be held at Fox Funeral Home in Boardman, Ohio and St. Patrick Church in Youngstown. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3rd and from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March at Fox Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Avenue in Youngstown, OH. Contributions may be made to his wonderful church, which he loved, St. Patrick Church of Youngstown.
