Teresa Margaret O'Connell, 90 AUSTINTOWN - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by the Rev. Edward P. Noga on Friday, April 5, at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown for Teresa Margaret O'Connell, 90, who passed away peacefully Sunday, March 24, at Assumption Village Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. Teresa was born Oct. 14, 1922, in Girard, a daughter of George W. and Mary Agnes McNulty Schidel and had been a life-long area resident. She was a 1940 graduate of Girard High School and worked in the office at Ohio Leather for many years. Teresa was an active member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, participating in the Garden Club and Altar and Rosary Society, and other helpful duties at her church. She enjoyed bowling in several leagues, golfing and quilting. She belonged to several card clubs and was?an avid Notre Dame and Cleveland Indians fan. Her husband, Thomas P. O'Connell, whom she married Sept. 28, 1946, died Sept. 25, 1992. She will be greatly missed her two sons, Timothy (Janice) O'Connell of Findlay and Thomas (Annette) O'Connell of Salem; three daughters, Peggy (Steve) McLaughlin of Boardman, Mary (Alan) Burton of Leavittsburg, and Maureen (Albert) Goldfinch of Monaca, Pa.; a daughter-in-law, Lisa O'Connell of Berlin Center; 20 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, George O'Connell; two brothers, Fr. George L. Schidel CSC. and John Schidel; and two sisters, Emma Giering and Elizabeth Schidel. Teresa worked selflessly and tirelessly for her church and her family, she was adored by her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with her special friends. "Teresa will always be in our hearts."
