Thomas Aloyisus Finnerty Sr., 88 POLAND - Prayers will be at 10:15 a.m. on Friday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by the Rev. Dan Finnerty at 11 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Church, Struthers, for Thomas Aloyisus Finnerty Sr., 88, who passed away peacefully Saturday evening with his loving family by his side. Thomas was born March 30, 1927, in Youngstown, a son of George A. "Cotton" and Molly Howe Finnerty Sr. A life long resident of Youngstown, Tom was a 1945 graduate of Ursuline High School. He was a firemen for the city of Youngstown, working at stations seven and one. He was a member of Christ Our Savior Church and was a Navy veteran. His wife, the former Virginia "Murph" Murphy, whom he married July 13, 1951, passed away March 1, 1991. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Kate (David) Bobby, with whom he made his home, Thomas Aloyisus (Charlotte) Finnerty Jr. of Poland, Timothy (Maureen) Finnerty, of Stow, John (Mary Jo) Finnerty of Lake Mary, Fla., Terence (Sandra) Finnerty of Port Orchard, Wash., Kevin (Mary Jo) Finnerty of Poland, Colleen (Thomas) Sutcliffe of Poland and Brian (Cathy) Finnerty of Poland; grandchildren Megan (Adam) Pannone, Jennifer Finnerty, Shannon Finnerty, Molly (Jason) Brenckle, Erin Lennis, Jackie (Johanna) Finnerty, Kate ( Zach) Johnson, Kelly Finnerty, Matthew (Loren) Finnerty, Julie ( Rory) McDonnell, Rev. Dan Finnerty, Maggie (Adam) Greenwood, Jeanne Sutcliffe, Thomas (Amanda) Sutcliffe Jr., Mary Sutcliffe, Emily (Brett) Thorson, Timothy Sutcliffe, Sean Finnerty, Lauren Finnerty, Thomas Finnerty, Leah Finnerty, Anna Bobby, David Bobby, Maura Bobby, Bridget Bobby; eight great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Dr. John Buckley; Sr and sister-in-law Ann Finnerty. Besides his parents and wife, Thomas was preceded in death by brothers, George Finnerty Jr., Robert Finnerty, John Finnerty; sisters Dorothy Bloom and Anne Buckley; and a granddaughter, Bridget Sutcliffe.
