Our community has lost a true hero with the passing of Thomas P. Lamb on March 21st, 2017. He was a ten year survivor of cancer. During these years, he fought this disease head on and inspired others to continue their fight. He spoke at events for Relay for Life and loved participating in the LIVESTRONG program.
He was born November 3rd, 1960, the son of Robert and Mildred Mullaney Lamb.
He graduated from Boardman High School in 1978, and after he worked at JC Penny's. He graduated from Youngstown State University in 1988. Tom was employed for many years at the Boardman Road Department where he was an active member of the Teamster's Union. He took his responsibility as a citizen seriously, Tom often wrote letters to the editor to local newspapers concerning issues he was passionate about. He served as Precinct Committeeman for the Mahoning County Democratic Party.
Tom was very intelligent, caring, and a great story teller. He took great pride in his Irish Heritage. He loved sports, especially Notre Dame Football and played in area golf leagues. He cherished his trips to Myrtle Beach. Most of all he loved his family. Tom and his wife Lori were a true love story. They were a team in their journey and sacrificed everything for each other.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Lori Lamb, his children: Nick Lamb, Rob (Jessica) Chiarello, Marc (Briana) Chiarello, his grandchildren: Aiden Chiarello (his mother Jasmin Daniel), and Eleiana "Puggy" Chiarello. Tom leaves his brothers: Charles (Judy) Lamb and William (Lorraine) Lamb. He also leaves, his faithful companions: Chewie and Louie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Mary Ann Lamb.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fox Funeral Home 4700 Market St. Boardman. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday 10 a.m. at St. Christine's Church by Father Keehner.
