Thomas Eugene Lawson, 69 YOUNGSTOWN - Thomas Eugene Lawson, 69, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 29, at his residence, with his family at his side. Tom was born on Oct. 12, 1945, in Youngstown, son of Jack and Viola Patton Lawson. He was a 1965 graduate of East High School. Tom was a 34 year employee of GF Furniture Corporation in Youngstown as a customer service representative and retired at the time of their closing. Prior to GF, he worked for Atlas trucking Co. and the GM McKelvey Co. Tom was a member of the Austintown Eagles 3298 and bowled in the Friday night mix double bowling league . Tom was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Cornersburg, he loved the church, served as an usher, Bible school helper and volunteered for many of the church activities. He is survived by four sisters, Marylou Lawson and Jean Zupko of Youngstown, who he shared his home with, Ruth Kritter of Canfield and Lynette ( Bob ) Marshall of Austintown; sisters-in-law Anna Lawson and Angie Lawson; two brothers Jim (Barb) Lawson of Austintown and Robert ( Fran ) of Youngstown; along with a very special great-nephew, Adian Schwab, who was like a son to him, "his Rock;" and many nieces and nephews that loved him. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Chamberlin; brothers Jack , Ervin and George Lawson; a sister-in-law, Eileen Lawson; brothers-in-law Linwood Chamberlain, Robert Kritter, and Jerry Yohman; and nephews John Lawson and Mike Lawson. Family and friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Fox Funeral Home. FOE 3298 will hold an Eagle service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church, Cornersburg, 3300 Canfield Road, Youngstown on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Duane Jesse officiating. The family will receive friends and family from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to Services. Internment will be at Lake Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Memorial Fund In Memory of Thomas Lawson.
