Obituary

Thomas J.Markovich, 80 YOUNGSTOWN - There will be prayers at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at Fox Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. at St. Peter & Paul Church, celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Rudjak for Thomas Markovich, 80, who passed away Tuesday Afternoon at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Youngstown. Thomas was born April 2, 1935, in Youngstown, a son of John & Rose Markovich and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School with the Class of 1954. Tom served his country as a paratrooper with the United States Army. He worked as a millwright for Youngstown Welding and Engineering retiring in 1998 after 30 years of service. He has been a long time parishioner of St. Peter & Paul parish and was an avid YSU sports enthusiast. He will be greatly missed by his wife of over 55 years, Mary "Peggy" Yankulak whom he married on July 23, 1960. He also leaves his two sons, John (Jackie) Markovich and Thomas Markovich both of Youngstown and his three grandchildren, Patrick, Daniel and Lauren Markovich also of Youngstown. Besides his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his four brothers, John Markovich, Daniel Chopp, George Chopp and Matthew Chopp. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Fox Funeral Home.
