Dr. Thomas John Touris, 75 COLUMBUS--Dr. Thomas John Touris born September 9, 1930, formerly of Youngstown passed away August 9. 2006 at Mount Carmel West Hospital. Dr. Touris was a graduate of South High School, Miami of Ohio University and the University of Pittsburgh Dental School where he graduated 3rd in his class. He was a member of Delta Chi Fraternity at Miami and Delta Sigma and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr Touris practiced for 42 years in the Youngstown-North Jackson area. During the Korean War, he served in the army and was stationed in Germany. Dr. Touris was a life-long member of St John Greek Orthhodox Church where he served on the board and was a recent member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Columbus. He was a member of the choir at both churches. Dr. Touris was also a member of the North Jackson Kiwanis, Lake Milton American Legion and the Pan Arcadian Federation. Dr. Touris was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Touris and sister Toula Touris. He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years Peggy (Athanasen) Touris and children Renee Sudimack, John (Joyce) Touris, Marie Touris, Jaimee Touris and Mark (Kyla) Touris; grandchildren Matthew, Rachel and Andrew Sudimack; Tom and Alee Touris; Aaron, Zoe and Lauren Touris and special family friend Lee Ann Vogetsberger. Services wilt be held Monday, August 14th at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Greek Orthodox Church where friends may call 1 hour before. Friends may also call Sunday, August 13th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market Street, Boardman, where there will be a Trisagion Service at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Greek Orthodox Church in his memory. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Mt Carmel Hospital in particular, the Palliative Care Unit and Drs. Mark Ricaurte and Michael Cooney for all of the love and care they provided.
