Toufic Abraham Salman, 76 YOUNGSTOWN - There will be funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Fox Funeral Home for Toufic Abraham Salman, 76, who passed away Saturday afternoon at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Youngstown. Toufic was born November 24, 1939, in Brooklyn, NY, a son of Abraham & Jamila Salman and moved to the Youngstown area in 1959. Toufic served his country in the United States army as a paratrooper with the 82 Airborne. He worked as a machine operator and was the Union President with National Strapping Steel Company. He enjoyed fishing and was a long time radio operator known to many as "Baked Potato". He will be greatly missed by his wife of over 55 years, Judith McBride whom he married on July 31, 1960. He also leaves a son Thomas (Kimberly Hogan) Salman of Youngstown; two daughters, Deborah (George) Wellington of Youngstown, Denise Salman of Boardman; seven grandchildren, Melissa (Jeremy), Shannon (Dan), Bryan, Nicky, William, John, Anna; and three great-granddaughters, Hailee, Sophia and Ariana; two brothers, Mohamed Salman of Florida, Joseph Salman of Youngstown; a sister, Laylah (David) Cain of Poland and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Toufic was preceded in death by his three brothers, Fehmy, Hassan and Jimmy Salman and a sister Bedria Abbas. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Fox Funeral Home.
