Obituary

Boardman, Valeria Ann Tomo, 89 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Philip Rogers at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Charles Church. She was born in Youngstown on May 7, 1922, a daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Schneider Schlosser and was a lifetime area resident. Valeria was a graduate of Ursuline High School and went to St. Mary's Hospital of Nursing in Passaic, New Jersey. She worked as a nurse at Northside Hospital until retiring in 1983. Valeria belonged to and was past president of the Youngstown Council of Catholic Nurses and was involved in Bowling Leagues at Boardman and Camelot Lanes. She was an active member of St. Charles parish, it's Altar Guild, Over 55 Club, Rosary Group, founding member of the Adult Choir and the Resurrection Choir. Valeria was predeceased by her husband, Paul Tomo Jr, whom she married in July of 1950 and who died in January of 1994. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters Pauline Tomo with whom she made her home in Boardman, Margaret Chavera of Dallas, TX; two sons, Gregory (Mary Ann) Tomo of Portersville, PA, Ronald (Mary Ellen) Tomo of Mooers Forks, NY; a brother Rudy Schlosser of Campbell; grandchildren, Tina, Amy (Scott), Lisa, Kelly, Alan(Kate, Leah (Mike), Shannon (Scott), Gretchen (Josh), Nathaniel , Alexandra and five great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Peter, Theodore, Theophile, Alex, Wendelin and Francis Schlosser; sisters, Stephania Schlosser, Francis Kurek and Victoria Schlosser. Friends may call 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Fox Funeral Home, and from 10 a.m. to 10:50 Monday at St. Charles Church.
