Boardman, Virginia "Ginger" L. Laird, 71. Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at The Fox Funeral Home Boardman, for Virginia "Ginger" L. Laird, 71 of Boardman who passed away peacefully Sunday morning, with her family by her side. Virginia was born April 13, 1945 in Youngstown, a daughter of Alfred and Florence Hector Dixon. She was a 1964 graduate of Chaney High School and worked at the Bonanza Bar, Ames Dept Store and St. Vincent de Paul Society. Virginia was a member of Bible Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family, playing bingo and going to Mountaineer. Her husband Robert D. Laird, whom she married October 23, 1976, passed away April 29, 1989. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Shelly A Rauschenbach, with whom she made her home, a sister Betty Ann Potts of Boardman, five grandchildren Shawn, Sr., Mark, Nicholas, Brittney and Whitney, Step - Grandchildren Beth, Maggie and Allan Rauschenbach and three great grandchildren Eliana, Shawn, Jr., and Marcus, she also leaves several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Virginia is preceded in death by two sisters Edna Mae Getsey and Sylvia Kirsch and a brother Jack Dixon. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman.
