Virginia Kamperman passed away peacefully at her home in Austintown on November 12, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimers . She was 90 years old.

Virginia was born in Youngstown on October 6, 1927 to parents James and Alexandrea Shagla, both Albanian immigrants. Her father served in the US Army during World War I.

She is preceded in death by her brother Paul, her daughter Sandra (Cable) and her husband of 61 years, Fred Kamperman, who passed just two months prior. She is survived by brother Bill, son Kurt, daughter in law, Carrie, daughter Jill and granddaughters Lauren and Kara Kamperman and Ashley and Kayley Owen, along with several nieces and nephews.

Virginia was a homemaker who was an active volunteer for much of her life. She enjoyed bridge, gardening, travel and spending time with her grandchildren.

Her family and friends will always be grateful for the gift that was her life.
