Vivian P. Jackanich, 88 NILES - There will be a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church , for Vivian P. Jackanich, 88, who passed away peacefully in her sleep early Sunday morning, at Shepherd of the Valley in Niles. Vivian was born April 11, 1926 in Scottsdale, PA, a daughter of the late Taylor and Gladys Chufo Snyder and has been an area resident for most of her life. She graduated from South High School with the Class of 1944 and was a homemaker raising her two daughters. She was a long time parishioner of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Bella Vista Ave, Youngstown. Her husband Dr. Paul Joseph Jackanich, whom she married on August 19,1982 died on August 7, 2003 after celebrating 21 years of marriage. Vivian will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Darlene (Jim) Dennis of Mantua, Donna (Rich) Nicastro of Boardman; two sons, Paul (Jodi) Jackanich of Lake Milton, Patrick Jackanich of Houston, TX; six grandchildren, Gary (Susanne) Laurie Jr., Michele (Brian) Rentsch, Daniel (Colleen) Nicastro, Drew (Joni) Nicastro, Paul Jackanich Jr., Anna Jackanich; four great grandchildren, Hope and Nicholas Laurie, Jenna and Jacob Rentsch. Besides her parents and husband, Vivian was preceded in death by three sisters, Sissy Terlecki, Thelma Lewis and Minnie Wilson. Her family would like to thank the Staff of Shepherd of the Valley for the kind and loving care they showed to Vivian. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 10:50 a.m at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church prior to her mass.
