William "Bill" E. Holmes, 65 STRUTHERS - A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Fox Funeral Home, celebrated by Rev. Gregory Fedor, held for William E. Holmes, 65, who passed away Sunday morning at Heritage Manor after a courageous battle with cancer. Bill was born September 19, 1948 in Youngstown, a son of Carl and Victoria (DeBald) Holmes and was a life-long area resident. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, Class of 1966, and was a veteran of the United States Navy serving on the U.S.S. Independence. Bill retired from Cold Metal Products, formerly J & L Steel, after 32 years employment. Bill enjoyed golfing, travel, and his many cats over the years. He was also a member of AA. He will be greatly missed by his sister Judith Hack of Austintown; his brother Michael (Gail) Holmes of Akron, his current cats Zeus and Cleo, and many cousins, family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Holmes and brother-in-law John Hack.
