Obituary

William H. Heintzelman, 81 COLUMBIANA - Private services will be held Monday for William H. Heintzelman, 81, who passed away Friday morning at his home in Back Bay, Lake Arrowhead, Columbiana. William was born Oct. 1, 1929, in Youngstown, a son of Clarence and Gertrude Heintzelman and was a lifetime area resident of Canfield. He graduated from South High School in 1947 and went on to earn his degree in Industrial Engineering at Youngstown State. Mr. Heintzelman was employed for his entire career for 50 years as an executive with Compco Industries. He was a member of the First Covenant Church, the Tippecanoe Country Club, where he served on the board of directors and the Canfield Investment Club. Bill enjoyed golfing, his daily walks, was an avid reader, was an all round sports fan especially Ohio State and enjoyed wintering in Florida. He served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean war. Upon returning home, he married the former Peggy Kirkner, on Jan. 23, 1954. Besides Peggy, he is survived by sons Scott Heintzelman of Boone, N.C., Kurt Heintzelman of Powell and Christian (Libby) Heintzelman of St. Clairsville; and five grandchildren, Colin Heintzelman, Kaylie (Heintzelman) O'Connor, Alex Heintzelman, Kyle Heintzelman and Madeline Heintzelman. Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, George Rex Heintzelman. Material tributes can be made in Bill's memory to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
