Winifred "Winnie" Ginty, 89 BOARDMAN - Prayers will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Fox Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by the Rev. Philip Rogers at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Church for Winifred "Winnie" Ginty, 89, of Sugartree Drive in Boardman, formerly of East Ravenwood, Youngstown, who passed away peacefully Monday evening. Winifred was born Feb. 8, 1924, in Culleens County Sligo, Ireland, a daughter of Michael and Margaret Hobin O'Hara. She moved to the Youngstown area in 1947. Winnie was a member of St. Charles Church and a long time member of St. Dominic Church. Her husband, Michael Ginty, whom she married April 18, 1953, passed away March 15, 2012. Winnie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She leaves to cherish her memory, seven sons, Michael (Julie) Ginty of Fishers, Ind., Kevin (Sharon) Ginty of Coralville, Iowa, John (Carol) Ginty of Olmsted Falls, Mark (Angela) Ginty of Cincinnati, Dennis Ginty of Hilliard, Paul Ginty of Poland and James (Larissa) Ginty of Alexandria, Va.; two sisters, Tessie McNicholas of London, England and Kate (Jim) Conway of North Olmsted; and 16 grandchildren. Besides her husband, Winnie was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas O'Hara; and a sister Mary Forbes. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman. Winnie's family wishes to thank Sunrise of Poland, Hospice of the Valley and Masternick Memorial for their compassionate care.
