Alex J. Varie, Jr.

Alex J. Varie , Jr. passed away unexpectedly on Monday October 13, 2025, at his residence in Campbell, Ohio.

He was born on March 8, 1943, in Youngstown, the son of the late Alex J. and Kathleen Vetromile Varie, Sr. and was lifelong are resident.

Alex graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School Class of 1961.

Alex married the love of his life Phyllis Marie Santucci, she sadly passed away on July 4, 2024.

He worked for Republic Rubber until his retirement.

Alex loved his older cars, especially his Oldsmobile Cutlass 442, which will be staying in the family.

He enjoyed attending car shows with his grandsons and would often take his dog B.B. for car rides.

Alex spent a lot of time with his dear friends Tony and Lisa.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Alex (Karen), Varie, III, Michael Varie (Amanda Purcell), Joseph (Linda) Varie, Kathy Varie-Wells (Ken Norman). And his daughter-in-law is Kristan Varie. He loved spending time with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids.

Alex also leaves his 10 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren. He had a very special relationship with his two older grandchildren, he counted on them, they helped him with car parts, with his computer and talking with him about cars.

Besides his wife, Alex was preceded in death by his son Dean Varie and his siter Kathleen M. Varie-Degli.

A private family service will be held for Alex.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. Boardman.
