Anthony “Tony” DiLallo passed away at the age of 97, on December 4, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio, where he resided the last ten years. Tony was born on October 21, 1927, in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Giacinta Minello and Giovanni DiLallo of Rotello, Italy. He was an army veteran of WWII, and later married Rita Sanchy in 1952. The two were married for 65 years prior to Rita’s passing in 2018. He was also preceded in death by his seven siblings, Rachel (Costello), Carl, Lewis, Joseph, Ann (Parish), John, and Jean (Camuso). Tony worked as a Youngstown City Police Officer for 19 years and managed the produce department at Sparkle Market in Cornersburg until his retirement. Tony brought joy to all those he encountered and had a gift of making people laugh. He was a hardworking man who loved his family deeply. Tony is survived by his three children: Lynn Ann (Lawrence) Hackett of Columbus, OH; Joseph (Kimberly Moore) DiLallo of Frisco, TX; and Diane (Jim) Orzali of Cincinnati, OH, as well as his five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren: Lawrence “LJ” (Kelley Windle) Hackett, Jolee, Catherine “Kitt”, and Lawrence “Renn” of Columbus; Ross (Danielle Price) Hackett, Leon, Cameron, and Veda of Columbus; and John, Anna, and Maria Orzali of Cincinnati. Tony’s family extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Brookdale and Danbury Senior Living communities where he made great friendships and wonderful memories in his final years. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Christine Church in Youngstown on Monday, December16, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Calling hours will precede mass from 10:00 AM-10:50 AM at the church.
