Christine M. “Criss” Carlson passed away Wednesday June 26, 2024, at Metro Health in Cleveland, with her loving children at her side.
Criss was born May 26, 1949, in Youngstown, daughter of the late John Paul and Marie Chamar Carlson, and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Poland High School class of 1968.
She was a homemaker and raised her children, which she was extremely proud of, being a mother was her most important job.
Criss had a tremendous love for the Lord, her Christian faith was very important to her. She volunteered at Akron children’s hospital and several churches; she was very tied into the community.
Criss often attended multiple churches in the area, she recently was in a bible study at Trinity Fellowship Church. Criss was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church in Boardman.
She loved animals her whole life, she could often be seen working at Dr. Allens office. She was a member of the Boardman Poland Women’s Junior League as well as several other local organizations; her heart was very selfless and generous.
Criss was a very big supporter of our country’s Military and Police services.
Criss leaves to cherish her memory her son Sean Kilbane of Fort Worth Texas; and her daughter Dr. Meghan Kartley (Greg West) of Jamestown Tennessee; and her two grandchildren, Elaine Kartley the apple of her eye and Chester Joseph “C.J.” Kartley whom she had an incredible special bond with.
She was preceded in death by not only her parents but her brother John Paul “Jay” Carlson, her first husband Ron Whalen and her son-in law Chris Kartley.
Family and friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. on Saturday June 29, 2024, at Good Hope Lutheran Church, 98 Homestead Dr. Youngstown, services will follow at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Bob Quaintance.
Purple flowers are requested for the arrangements.
