Clotilda "Tillie" DeLaurentis Obituary

Clotilda T. DeLaurentis, 86 of Canfield, who went by the name “Tillie” and was affectionately known to all as “Grandma,” passed peacefully on Thursday morning Feb 1, 2024, at the Hospice House.
Tillie was born on June 19, 1937, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late John and Clotilda Stief McCarthy.
She graduated from Ursuline High School class of 1955. Tillie worked at the A&P grocery store where she met Dominic DeLaurentis. They married in October 1960.
Tillie also worked at the Union National Bank (later BankOne) and then at Northside Hospital.
She was an avid and voracious reader, an incredible cook, and an awesome baker; everything she made was delicious, especially her meatballs. When she cooked, she cooked enough for an army, and she always said, “if anyone gets up hungry from my table, it’s their own fault”.
Tillie was an adventurous and intrepid traveler, and faithful sports fan. She loved the Cleveland Guardians, Cleveland Browns, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
She was a talented craft maker: she crocheted afghans that are prized heirlooms, and lately she loved making diamond art pictures and coasters.
Tillie was a “Mom” to many and a “Grandma” to legions. She leaves to cherish her memories, her three children: Dominic (Jackie) DeLaurentis, Jr., Ann (Ben) Trotter, Gina (Randy) Ritchie. Her eight grandchildren: Nicholas Ritchie, Keli (Marty) Foor, Nicole (Adam) Will, Lauren (Anthony) Greco, Dominic (Drew) DeLaurentis, III., Jenna DeLaurentis (Ryan), Chloe (Alex) Behr, and Benjamin Trotter. Her two great-grandchildren Thomas and James Will.
Tillie also leaves her sisters Dorothy Trimble and Christina Sell, and sister-in-law Mary Stabile.
Besides her parents, Tillie was preceded in death by her husband Dominic DeLaurentis who passed on February 29, 2012, her sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Sadosky, and Mary Catherine Welsh, and brother John “Jack” McCarthy.
