Dolores “Dee” Petrus, 95 passed away peacefully Saturday morning May 23, 2026.
Dolores was born on August 17, 1930, in Youngstown, a daughter of Andrew and Anna Kapina Sedlar. During the Korean War, Dolores worked at Commercial Shearing and Stamping and later worked maintenance dept for 23 years at City Centre One, downtown.
She was a member of St. Charles Church and enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, playing cards and most especially spending time with her family.
Her husband Joseph, whom she married July 17, 1954, passed away October 7, 2004. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children Patti (Andy Warbel) Petrus, Joseph (Karen) Petrus ,also Donna (Tony) Tisdall and Karen Colla, grandchildren Jamie (Eric) Soller, Danielle (Zach) Brock, Anthony Tisdall, Jimmy Colla and Josh Colla and great grandchildren Brady, Mitchell and Zoe. Dolores is preceded in death by her brothers Thomas Sedlar, Andrew Sedlar and Frank Sedlar, sisters Josephine Papula and Marian Kozbial and son in law James Colla.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday May28, 2026, at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman.
Prayers will be 12:30 Friday May 29, 2026, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Stephen Zeigler at 1 P.M. at St. Catherine of Seina Parish, St. Charles Church 7345 Westview Dr. Boardman.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Lake Park Cemetery.
Dolores’s family wishes to thank her special niece Carol, the angels at Hampton Woods, Tony, Patti, Alice, Jenise (Jolene) for their care and compassion given to her.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. Boardman.
