Harry J. Wollet, age 70, of Poland, Ohio, was called home to his Heavenly Father on June 16, 2025. He was born on June 18, 1954, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Walter and Mary Frances (McNally) Wollet. A lifelong resident of the Valley, Harry was a 1972 graduate of Ursuline High School and alumni of Youngstown State University, receiving a degree in criminal justice.
From 1975 to 1990, Harry served proudly as a detective of the Youngstown Police Department. To those who loved him, his stories from this chapter will live on in their hearts. He transitioned from protecting lives to protecting financial futures, and built a career helping others achieve financial freedom. Harry flunked retirement, and after spending a few years continuing his helping legacy with the United Way, he went back to his passion for brokerage, advising clients until the end. Despite numerous professional titles, Harry ultimately held the title of “friend” by everyone that crossed his path.
Harry had a larger-than-life personality, a gift that enabled him to connect with anyone. He will leave a legacy of love, faith, connection, generosity, compassion, triumph, redemption, strength, and humor.
Harry leaves his mother, Mary Frances Wollet, wife of 39 years, Joanne (Filaccio), three loving children, Jillian (Joseph) Lee, Luke (Renee) Wollet, Adam Wollet, and his precious grandchildren, Ayla and Luke Wollet, and Vivian Lee. He also leaves his siblings William (Kerri) Wollet, Mark (Marilyn) Wollet, Jeff (Renee) Wollet, MaryBeth (Kevin) Scheetz, Michael (Jennifer) Wollet, and numerous nieces and nephews. Harry was preceded in death by his father, Walter Wollet, and sister, Rosemary Wollet.
