James Reichert 79, of Boardman, passed away August 30, 2024, at Mercy Health after a long illness.
He was born February 12, 1945, in Youngstown, the son of the late Michael and Susan Cvercko Reichert.
He was a 1962 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and a 1974 graduate of Kent State University. He was a mechanic at Agnew Farm Equipment for many years before retiring.
In his leisure time Jim enjoyed fishing and vegetable gardening. He and his wife Karen found great joy in taking ballroom dance lessons at Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Boardman and competed in many dance competitions over the years.
Jim was a member of St. Dominic Church.
He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. Per Jims wishes, there will be no calling hours.
He leaves to cherish his memory of his wife Karen Anderson Reichert whom he married on October 4, 1969. His brother Dr. Thomas (Lara) Reichert and sister Dr. Susan Reichert (John Walkenhorst), as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Susan Reichert and sister Karen Susan Reichert, and father and mother-in-law Karl and Mary Anderson.
Jim and Karen were very loyal supporters of Angels for Animals where they adopted their two cats Dolly & Jellybean.
Memorial tributes may take the form of contributions in Jim’s name to Angels for Animals, 4750 West South Range Rd, Canfield Ohio, 44406.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. Boardman.
