Joanne F. Protain

Joanne F. Protain, 79 of Warren, passed away on June 30, 2025.
Joanne was born on September 6, 1946, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Louis H. and Frances Wetherbee Protain.

Joanne worked for the Dollar Savings & Trust in downtown Youngstown for over 20 years.

She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, and late-night runs to Walmart with her best friend Miss Addier Douglas.

She spent her days watching reruns of The Golden Girls and The Price is Right, while enjoying the company of her great nephew Braydon McElhinny.

Joanne is survived by her two brothers, James (Rosemary) Protain, Sr. and John ( Debbie) Protain.

Also mourning her passing are her nephews and nieces: James Protain Jr., Dr. Joseph (Dr. Alison) Protain, Stacy Hill (fiancé Ryan Piszczek) of Florida, Kim (Thomas) Stimple; Randi (Matt) McElhinny, Kristy (Chris) Olinik, and Christopher Protain.

She also leaves behind many great-nephews and great nieces and 3 great-great nephews.

A private funeral service was held on Monday July 14, 2025, at thew Fox Funeral Home, interment followed at Lake Park Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. Boardman.
