John C. Kovach, 72, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon June 28, 2025, with his family by his side. John was born June 2, 1953, in Youngstown, a son of the late John and Helen Demidovich Kovach.
He was a 1971 graduate of Boardman High School and was a skilled tradesman who took great pride in his work. Along with his family, John was a member of St. Charles Church.
He loved spending time cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes. One of his greatest joys was gathering friends and family for a good meal and an ice cold “Johnny K. Special”. His most proud title was that of “Papa Gone” to his grandchildren, Mac and Isla
John leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter Alissa (Mark) Sahli, grandchildren Macsen and Isla Sahli, brothers James (Micki) Kovach and Tom Kovach, nieces Krista (Matt) Schmied and Lauren Flauto, four great nephews and his beloved girlfriend Linda Clark and her family.
He is preceded in death by his brother Charles Kovach.
Family and friends can call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday July 2, 2025, at the Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. Boardman.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena parish, St. Charles Church 1P.M. Thursday July 3, 2025.
