Karl F. Adams, Sr., 95 passed away peacefully surrounded by family Thursday evening March 6, 2025. Karl was born February 1, 1930, in Youngstown, a son of Michael Thamas and Laura Waller Adams.
He was a Woodrow Wilson High School graduate and took courses at Youngstown College before he enlisted in the Marine Corp in 1951. In 1953 he was honorably discharged after obtaining the rank of Staff Sergent.
Karl spent his whole working career at Ohio Edison, retiring as a Commercial Account Representative. Upon retirement, Karl worked as a bartender at the Saxon Club, where he made several lasting friendships.
Karl would frequent the Boulevard Restaurant on Thursday evenings after work for their famous spaghetti dinners.
He was a founding member of St. Luke Church and later St. Charles Church.
Karl moved to Bonita Springs, Florida, after the passing of his loving wife, Alice.
An outgoing person, Karl enjoyed golfing, swimming and making friends wherever he went.
He was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Indians fan.
His wife, the former Alice D. Jagielski, whom he married on October 6, 1956, passed away March 17, 1989.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter Carol Adams, son Karl Adams, Jr. and Theresa Kelly, son in law Patrick Kelly and grandchildren Katie Kelly and Patrick Kelly, Jr.
Karl is preceded in death by his sisters Ruth (James) Long, Kathleen (Walter) Skotynsky, Murial (Larry) Grybos, cherished sister Marion (Jim) Ocarz and nephews Nicolas Skotynsky, Walter Skotynsky , Thomas Skotynsky and Paul Ocarz.
There was a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated Tuesday March 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., celebrated by Rev. Mgr. John A. Zuraw at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, St. Charles Church. He was later laid to rest next to his wife at Resurrection Cemetery.
Karl’s family wishes to thank the staff at Ironwood, the Inn at Christine Valley and Crossroads Hospice for their compassionate care.
