Margie (Morrisroe) Seidner was a beloved grandmother, mother and wife during her remarkable 97 years of life. She passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
Margie was a lifelong resident of Youngstown, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald J. Morrisroe, her second husband Robert J. Seidner, and her siblings Frank Haus and Betty Thompson. She is survived by her sons Donald (Barbara) Morrisroe, Neil (Lucie) Morrisroe and daughter Colleen (James) Small. Margie is also survived by her eight beloved grandchildren Erin (David) Federico, Meryl (Alex) Koppelman, Molly (Conor) Frazier, Cullen Small, Katherine (William) Thurman, Kyle (Elizabeth) Morrisroe, Rachel Morrisroe and Neil Steven Morrisroe, Jr., and four great-grandchildren.
The daughter of Stephan and Mary Haus, Margie graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1944 after being voted “best dancer” and “most popular”. In 1949, she married the love of her life, Don Morrisroe, with whom she had her three children. After Don’s untimely death, Margie raised her children on her own, and later married Bob Seidner in 1979.
We will all remember Margie for her sweet, loving nature until the end. Her children and grandchildren could not spend a minute with Margie without hearing how much she loved them. Never one to mince words, she would always let you know exactly how she felt. She was a superstar grandmother to all her grandkids, and loved the beach, her bridge clubs, bowling leagues and hanging out with her many friends at the Boardman Swim Club. Margie was also a devoted member of St. Charles Church and very active in her favorite charity, P.E.O. International, which provides opportunities for higher education to women. Margie had a knack for making friends wherever she went and remained extremely close to her sister Betty her entire life.
