Marjorie G. (Margie Welch) Bires passed away on Tuesday August 5, 2025, after her battle with cancer. Her daughter Daveen was by her side.
Margie was born July 11, 1964, in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Gaylord and Sandra Gregory Welch. She was the youngest of their four children.
She graduated from The Rayen High School in 1982. She was known to her friends and classmates as one tough cookie that loved to dance.
Margie worked several places including Hills Department Store in Liberty and St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Youngstown.
Margie enjoyed watching her soap operas, as well as being on her laptop connecting with family and friends. She always held a special place in her heart for cats and collected cat knick knacks and anything with a cat on it. Margie was known for her wit and sarcasm as well as her strong-willed personality and sense of humor.
Margie leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Daveen with whom she made a home. Her sister Wilma Welch of Poland. Her brother Roy and sister-in-law Nancy Welch of Youngstown. Her sister-in- law Carla Welch of Boardman. Two nieces: Nicole Amill and Michelle Merando. 3 great nephews and 1 great niece. She leaves behind and will also be missed by two fur-babies, Cookie & Joey.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Samanatha, her mother and father, her brother Mike Welch and twin nephews Roy Jr. And Nicholas. Her ex-husband David Bires, along with several cats, became family.
The family will be planning a celebration of life at a later date. Any material tribute can be made to Angels for Animals.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. Boardman.
