Matthew Edward Hannon passed away on Friday February 13, 2026, at University Hospital in Cleveland.
He was born on November 19, 1953, in Youngstown, the son of the late William J. and Elizabeth Curtis Hannon, and was lifelong area resident.
After graduating from Boardman High School in 1972, Matthew enlisted in the Ohio National Guard and Army Reserves.
He was a cabinetmaker retiring in 2018, from McRoyal Industries, and enjoyed collecting coins and model trains.
Matthew leaves to cherish his memory, his wife the former Penny S. Betts whom he married June 19, 1976, daughters Tricia Cessna (Robert Walp) of Liberty and Stacie Dunn of Boardman, son John (Rue) Hannon of Hubbard, brother Thomas Hannon of Wilmington, North Carolina, twin sisters Debbie Strishock of Boardman and Beckie (Tom) Piersante of Canfield
and beloved grandchildren Isaiah Hannon, Cayden Dunn (Ethan Lineberry), Olivia Dunn (Jack Moran), Ayla and Kaira Hannon. Plus, his great-grandchildren Calvin Lineberry and Alanna Moran.
Matthew is preceded in death by his brothers Bill, Dennis and PJ.
A celebration of Matthew’s life will be held at a later date.
