Michael J. Moran

Michael J Moran passed away on July 31, 2025, in the care of Buckeye Hospice at Continuing Health Care in Mineral Ridge. 

He was born on July 28, 1951, to Frederick and Rita (Mullaney) Moran in Youngstown, and was a lifelong area resident.  Mike graduated from Boardman High School in 1969. 

He enlisted in the United States Army in March of 1970.  While serving he received the rank of PVT, SP4.  He was honorably discharged in March of 1976. 

After serving his country he sold insurance for a little while until he started working at Tamco Distributors until their closure.  Mike then started at the Boardman Road Department and remained there until he retired in 2016.

He loved golf and participated in many different leagues in town.  He also loved his Notre Dame Fighting Irish, along with the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns. 

Mike is survived by his two daughters, Danielle (Eric), Papa of Boardman and Shannon (John) Motsco of Ellicott City, Maryland.  He also leaves behind his three granddaughters Juliette, Madelyn, Amelia, brother Edward of Boardman and sister-in-law Nancy of Battle Creek, Michigan.

Besides his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother Frederick of Battle Creek, Michigan and his sister-in-law Lydia of Youngstown, Ohio.

Family and friends may call from 10 AM to 11:50AM on Friday September 12, 2025, at The Fox Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at Noon. 

A private family burial will follow at Boardman Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St Boardman.
