Pamela Latone Zilba was holding her husband, John’s hand and her sister, Joyce’s hand as she peacefully passed away from respiratory failure and lung cancer on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Suncoast Hospice Care Center in Tampa, Florida. She was 67.
Pam was born on September 11, 1957, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Farmer and Nellie Mitchell. She graduated from South High School in 1975 and continued her education to receive her license in cosmetology.
Pam was a resident of Apollo Beach, Fl, since 2004. She was Captain of the Ruskin VFW Post 6287 Auxiliary Color Guard from 2015-2025. Pam was also a past President of the Ruskin VFW Post 6287 Women’s Auxiliary.
Pam is survived by her husband of 15 years, John Zilba, four sisters, Lou Goist, Roxanne Saccomen, Connie Culp and Joyce Filippone (Minnesota), two brothers, Ken Mitchell and Don (Donna) Mitchell and numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents Farmer and Nellie Mitchell, her first husband John Latone, Sr. and brother, James Harry, sister Mary Katherine and four brothers-in-law, William Goist, Edward Saccomen, Wayne Culp and Richard Filippone (Minnesota), two sisters-in-law, Kay Mitchell and Ginny Mitchell.
Family and friends may call from 10 to 11:00 a.m. on July 30, 2025, at Edward J. Fox Funeral Home.
Followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Tom Dooley.
Interment will be at Lake Park Cemetery.
