Rodney B. Hamilton, 65, passed away peacefully Friday evening March 21,2025, with his loving family by his side.
He was born on August 18, 1959, in Youngstown, to the late Marvin and Edna Eddy Hamilton. After graduating from McDonald High School in 1977, Rodney went to work at the General Motors Assembly Plant in Lordstown, retiring in 2018 after 41 years of faithful service.
He was a union official for U.A.W. Local 1112 and was a member of Argus Lodge # 545 F & M. Rodney was an avid Cleveland Browns, Indians and Ohio State Buckeye fan. He took great pride in coaching his son’s baseball teams, that won two state titles. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him Pap Pap. Along with his loving wife the former Linda M. Horvath, whom he married on September 29, 1984, he leaves to cherish his memory, his children Ryan H. (Sarah) Hamilton and Krista M. (Michael) Gettan, brother Randy (Cindy) Hamilton, and grandchildren Brinnley, Emersyn, Hunter, Aubrey and Charlotte.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday March 26, 2025, at the Fox Funeral Home.
A masonic service will be held at the closing of calling hours.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday March 27, 2025, at the Fox Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Russell Adams. Memorial contribution can be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society 10501 Euclid Cleveland Ohio 44106. He will be laid to rest at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. Boardman.
