Rosemarie Fintor Knott 88, of Boardman passed peacefully Sunday October 20, 2024, at the Hospice House in Poland, surrounded by her loving family.
Rosemarie was born August 16, 1936, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Steven and Rose Tomsick Fintor, she was a lifelong area resident.
She attended Boadman Elementary and Middle School and graduated from Boardman High School.
Rosemarie graduated from Youngstown State University with her master’s degree in English.
Soon after graduating she began teaching in Boardman Schools in the language arts department at both Elementary School and then Middle School. Rosemarie was head of the English department and worked 50 years until her retirement. After retiring she worked part time at Youngstown State University in communication and English department.
Rosemarie was a member at St. Charles Church and was very active helping at the church for many years. Her family was extremely important to her, she loved spending time with them.
Rosemarie leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Karen R. Dycman (fiancé James Holt) of Boardman; and her granddaughter Danielle M. Dycman of Canfield; and her fur baby, Bella.
Besides her parents Rosemarie was preceded in death by her son, David John Knott who passed away May 2023, and her brother, Stephen Fintor.
Family and friends may call from 10 to 10:50 a.m. Thursday October 24, 2024, at St. Charles Church 7345 Westview Dr. Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Very Rev. Msgr. John A. Zuraw. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Rosemarie’s family has request material tributes be given to either Hospice House 9803 Sharrott Rd. or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN. 38105.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. Boardman.
