Thomas “Tom” Raymond Fitchet, 69, of Boardman passed away peacefully on Monday August 26, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman, with his loving family at his side.
Tom was born in Youngstown on February 18, 1955, the son of the late John D. and Clara I. Parker Fitchet and he was a lifelong area resident.
He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1973 and attended Youngstown State University.
Tom worked for Quaker Steak and Lube maintenance department for many years prior to retirement.
He married his wife Amy L. Franken in 1977 at Youngstown Bethlehem Church of Christ. They were married until she passed away in August of 2012.
Tom attended Good Hope Lutheran Church in recent years and enjoyed NASCAR, landscaping and model trains, and his favorite football team the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He leaves to cherish his memory his partner Diane Pallai of Boardman, his brothers, John D. (Joann) Fitchet Jr. of Virgina Beach and Glenn R. (Darlene) Fitchet of Lutz Florida, his sister-in-law, Jeanne Eakins, brothers-in-law Bob and Tom McCloskey; and nieces and nephews, Jodi (Patrick) Fernholz and Janeen Eakins, Tina Fitchet, Scott Fitchet and Michael (Nina) Fitchet. His great nieces and nephews John & Andrew Hood, Tyler Doyle, Mason and Miranda Eakins and Shelbi and Spencer Fernholz survive him. He also leaves his beloved Rottweilers, Violet and Baxter.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 5:50 p.m. on Wednesday September 11, 2024, at the Fox Funeral Home followed by a service with Pastor Bob Quaintance from Good Hope Lutheran Church at 6:00 p.m.
A private burial will be at Lake Park cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. Boardman.
