David T. Davies

Funeral services will be 4 P.M.  Saturday, May 12 at the Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market Street, Boardman, 44512, officiated by Pastor Russ Adams, followed by a military honor guard service, for David T. Davies, 92, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away Friday, April 27.  Friends may call from 3 to 4 P.M. Saturday, an hour before the service.

David was born March 6, 1926 in Youngstown, a son of David J. and Lily Wrench Davies.  A 1944 graduate of Rayen High School, he served his country in the U.S. Army overseas during WWII, attaining the rank of 2nd. Lieutenant.  David returned to the area and worked in engineering at East Ohio Gas Co., retiring in 1988. 

David was very active in the Mahoning Valley Olde Car Club, where he participated in parades, cruise-ins and fundraisers.  He also taught young kids to appreciate old cars, of which he had a few.  He was also a member of the VFW, both here and in Cincinnati where he moved two years ago.  David belonged to Boardman United Methodist Church, and joined Locust Corner Methodist Church in Cincinnati.

David leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Laurie Davies (Sheila McNeile) of Indianapolis, IN and Wendy (Patrick) Welsh of Cincinnati, with whom he made his home; two sisters Marjorie Anzivino of DeLand, FL and Gloria Meeker of Poland; and his beloved friend Victoria Matts of Boardman.

Besides his parents, David is preceded in death by his sister Jane Walsey.
