There will be calling hours from 9 to 10 AM followed by a funeral service officiated by Rev. Thomas Eisweirth at 10 AM on Monday, August 20 at The Fox Funeral Home for Florence “Flo” E. Cavanaugh who passed away Thursday, August 16.
Flo was born in Youngstown on August 26, 1931 to John and Elizabeth (McKenna) Timmins. She was a 1949 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and was a life-long area resident where she was a homemaker. She attended St. Jude Parish in Columbiana where she was reader. She also enjoyed volunteering as a Bingo worker at Sacred Heart Church, now known as St. Angela Merici Parish.
On July 8, 1950, Flo married the love of her life, Donald P. Cavanaugh. Donald passed away March 17, 2008.
Flo will always be remembered by her children, Cathleen (Michael) Cope of Boardman, John (Becky) Cavanaugh of Leetonia and Donald M. (Lorraine) Cavanaugh of Struthers; her nine grandchildren, Donald V., Amanda M., and Vincent M. Cavanaugh, Kelly Ann Lipka, Richard C. Realty, Rochelle R. Wright, Kristen D. Catanco, Nichole M. Spiker and Celeste M. Cavanaugh; and sixteen great grandchildren.Besides her parents and her husband, Donald, Flo was preceded in death by her sister, Margie Goldcamp, and her brother, Jack Timmins.
Family and friends may call from 9 to 10 AM on Monday at the Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market Street, in Boardman.
In lieu of flowers, Flo’s family would like that donations be sent to Animal Charity, 4140 Market Street, in Flo’s name.
