James R. DeBartolo

James R DeBartolo, age 78 of Boardman, Ohio was called home to be with the Lord on April 14, 2024, surrounded by his family.

He will always be remembered as a loving husband and father. Family was always first and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for his children.

He was born September 16, 1945, in Youngstown, Ohio to Adelmo and Gemma DeBartolo. In 1965, he married the love of his life, Carla. They raised 2 children and were married for 58 years.

James was a mechanical engineer specializing in rolling mills which took him across the globe. Golfing was his passion, and you would often see him in the yard practicing his swing. He played in several Pro-Am tournaments.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Carla, his son, James A. DeBartolo (Kathie Spalla) and his daughter, Gina Vizi (Adam).

In addition, he is survived by his sister, Joan Helmick (Dave) and his brother, Larry DeBartolo.
